I am a kid from the street who has been through A to Z. I began in street dance in high-school, and graduated to teach at many professional dance studios (Arthur Murray, Vicki Stevens, Detroit Dance Show- The Scene (Dance coordinator for Nat Morris and weekly show personality 82-83).I received my 3rd Dan Instructor Tom Ramirez (Japanese Shito-Ryu:) and fought on his team professionally in Las Vegas RAZ Kickboxing Team (ISKA Las Vegas Super-middleweight 1989). Cycling would discover me next as I searched for another arduous pastime to fill the loss of ceaseless daily head trauma, so in two years from a Cat 4 to a Cat 2 and an invitation to go pro. Of course i was all in. I went to California for the winter to train, bumped into the man (or should I say legend) who signed my father to Motown & Impact records, sang for him, and once again engaged in a major life shift. Six months later I signed a record deal as a completely green kid who knew nothing at all of the business, was soon recording with Motown legends and in the studio with, Siedha Garret, Toto, Steven Tyler, Wah-Wah Watson, Luther Vandross, and using Elton John & Chaka Khan's background Singers for my songs (which was hysterical because they were twice the voices I was at that time, but I had the record deal- such is the vacuous inexplicable nature of the music business). The deal ended up getting shelved and the record company picked up my 7 year, 1 year options, without ever doing a thing (meaning I lost almost a decade as an artist- learn from me people), it did give me the fortitude and foundation to earn an incredibly generous living over the next 25 years. However, i fiured a little backup coun'dt hurt, and so I began the drudge through academia while i performed for a living. I finished my BA in Counseling Psychology. and went on to do two masters programs (Clinical and Forensic), and I graduated with a 3.5 from undergrad, and a 3.83 from grad school. I was proud anyway, ..so close it you 4.0 people. I studied the art of reading miro-expressions and became an expert. I used this quite effectively in the treatment of the offender population where psychopaths can easily beat polygraphs during mandatory treatment that are based on emotional fluctuation/ autonomic responses. Well, that's about it and the kicker is this: I'm now back in the music business after treating patients for years: I went to The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and got called by a guy from Warner Brothers who heard my song, and I'm back where my heart is, but still doing forensic work by consultation on the side. So, since I'm sitting here, I presented the implication to the organic construct between my ears that all this knowledge could be useful to someone...and now I'm talking to you. So, ask away....Just stay away from "so,..How old ARE you dude?!!
